Flatten The Mountain Tier List
What to buy first so the blocked sun actually comes back.
A tier list for Flatten The Mountain is not a PvP roster. Nobody is balancing a fighter. You are ranking spending. Cash pops in small integers. The mountain is a voxel tower. The eagle is a timer. Every bad buy is a delay on the sun. This hub ranks the three purchase families that matter: Skill Tree nodes, drones, and turrets. Cosmetics sit at the bottom until the terrace is flat.
Ranks below are community heuristics for September 2026, based on the official loop (mine, Skill Tree, chests, eagle) and on what the promotional shots actually show. DomBlox has not published a balance sheet. If a patch shuffles costs, check updates before you screenshot this page into Discord as law.
Early-game S tier (first cash)
| Buy | Why it sits in S |
|---|---|
| Mining speed on the Skill Tree | Every click and every drone inherits it |
| First drone | Turns you into two miners |
| Cash / income node | Makes the next drone arrive sooner |
These three beat a flaming pickaxe skin, a second turret, and any trail. The flame pick in the hero art is a late flex, not a spawn buy. Read the dedicated Skill Tree list before you dump a lucky chest into a vanity branch.
A tier (once the first drone is alive)
- Second drone on a different color cluster
- First laser turret for thick interior voxels
- Movement or stamina if the eagle is clipping you (see eagle)
- Chest luck after you learn the buried chest tells
A-tier buys convert a working loop into a faster loop. They are not the loop itself.
B tier
- Extra turrets before extra drones
- Cosmetic pickaxes that do not list a damage or speed stat
- Solo play on empty servers when co-op is available
Turrets look spectacular in the overview shot. They also do not print +$10 over your head as reliably as drones. If your pocket is dry, you bought too many beams.
C tier and below
- Impulse Robux cosmetics before a drone exists
- Executor “farms” ranked on the scripts hub
- Waiting for codes that have not shipped
C-tier is how a million-visit game still has players stuck on the sand with a wooden pick.
How to use the child lists
- Skill Tree tier list — node order, what to skip, prestige-style thinking if a reset ever ships.
- Drones and turrets — count mix, parking spots, when a turret is a trap.
- Skill planner — printable checklist of the same ranks.
- How to flatten — applies the ranks to actual layers.
If two friends argue drones versus turrets, send them the child page, not this hub. This hub is the map. Those pages are the argument.
Ranking rules we will not break
- We will not invent node names DomBlox did not show.
- We will not attach fake DPS numbers to drones.
- We will not put Robux game passes in S until the universe lists them (the pass API was empty at wiki launch).
- We will move a rank the same day a patch changes a cost.
Play the beginner guide once with this hub open. Buy only S and A. Then argue about B-tier on the sand after the sun is visible again.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions miners ask most.
What is S tier in Flatten The Mountain?
Mining speed, the first drone, and income nodes. Everything else waits. Details on the Skill Tree list.
Are turrets better than drones?
Turrets delete volume. Drones pay you. Buy a drone first. See drones and turrets.
Should I spend Robux on a pickaxe skin?
Not until you own drones and a turret. The flame pick is a screenshot, not a starter kit.
Does this tier list include codes?
Codes are a cash injection, not a rank. When they exist they go on the codes hub. Spend them on S-tier buys.
