Flatten The Mountain Beginner Guide

First session on the sand: restore the sun without wasting cash.

Last updated:

Getting Started

You spawn on a flat desert with a starter pickaxe and a problem. A voxel tower — more skyscraper than gentle hill — stands between you and the sun. Official copy from DomBlox Games is the whole pitch: mine blocks for cash, upgrade the Skill Tree, find buried chests, watch the eagle, flatten the mountain so you can tan. This beginner guide is that pitch in session order.

Flatten The Mountain is a free Roblox incremental simulator. Servers hold 25 players. It released 18 August 2026. You do not need a game pass to start (none were listed on the universe when we built this wiki). You do need a spending plan, because the first cash feels big and disappears into a cosmetic if you let it.

The voxel tower blocking the sun while a flaming pickaxe waits in the foreground

Minute one: look up, then hit the base

Walk toward the tower. The sun sits behind the peak; that is the joke and the win condition. Do not climb to the top on your first life unless you like the eagle tutorial the hard way. Mine the lowest colored blocks you can reach. Cash pops as +$ integers. Brown filler is volume. Gold, blue, and red clusters in the overview art are the payday. Keep swinging until the shop and Skill Tree are not theoretical.

Controls are standard Roblox: WASD or thumbstick to move, mouse or tap to look, click or tap to mine. If the camera is miserable, jump to the controls page and come back. You should not fight the mouse while the bird is circling.

The no-commentary session below is a real Flatten The Mountain recording, not a clip from Mine a Mountain or Climb a Mountain. Use it to see the tower scale, the pickaxe upgrades, and how fast a committed miner chews a layer. Shop tools versus Skill Tree speed are unpacked on the pickaxe guide.

Minutes two to ten: Skill Tree, then a drone

Open the Skill Tree before you open a cosmetics row. Buy mining speed, then income, then a drone slot. That order is the Skill Tree tier list in three words. A drone is the first time the game plays itself. Park it on a colored cluster using the rules on drones and turrets. You are now two miners.

If the shop also offers a laser turret, wait until the drone is producing. Turrets delete voxels. Drones print money. Beginners who buy the laser first own a light show and a still-blocked sun.

Check codes once. There are no verified strings yet. Then stop checking for the rest of the session. Codes will not out-earn a drone.

Survive the eagle while you learn

The eagle is not flavor text. Promotional shots show a bird on a white ring around the tower, sometimes with a red bang over a player who looked the wrong way. Mine in a notch. Glance at the ring every few swings. If you get grabbed, respawn and treat movement as a B-tier Skill Tree buy sooner than you wanted. Full tactics live in the eagle guide.

Do not AFK on the outer lip in this first hour. Legal idle comes later, on the auto-farm page, after you have a roof.

First interior cut and first chest

Once a terrace exists, cut inward. Buried chests are a listed feature. They are not on the sand. Look for odd holes, gleam, or a shape that is not a regular voxel. The chests walkthrough is the dedicated hunt. One chest should be spent like a code: speed, drone, turret — never a trail.

When to call the session a win

A good first session is not a fully flat mountain. It is: Skill Tree speed online, one drone parked, one notch that the eagle does not own, and a plan for how to flatten next time. If a populated lobby is available, stay. Co-op is a free turret farm. If the server is empty, still buy the drone. Solo is slower, not impossible.

End the session by bookmarking the skill planner and the updates hub. Flatten The Mountain is still receiving studio updates. The beginner mistakes above will stay true until DomBlox changes the loop. When they do, this page will change with them.

Play it on Roblox through the official place page linked in official links. Anything that asks you to install an executor to “skip the tutorial” belongs in the trash and on script safety.
